Templars Memorial Day Toast

Templars Memorial Day Toast

By Editor In Chief/Lord Of Words Ed M Morris

Here in the United States, today is Memorial Day. A day when we honor the men and women of our Armed Forces who gave all and didn't get to come home.

Today can be a difficult one for Gold Star families, the families who have lost Sons and Daughters, and Husbands and Wives to war and other direct actions. Our Veterans as well, who where there when they saw their friends go off to Valhalla, today is a day of memories good and bad. If you see someone who could use a hand, offer yours. That offer of help is what makes our nation great.

Our Armed Forces is an all volunteer force, meaning that we are not conscripted into service, no one is forcing us to don a uniform and fight for our country. We volunteer, we take an oath and we serve, of our own free will. And with that oath, we are prepared to give all.

When you gather today with your family and friends, please take some time and raise your glass to toast these folks.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning.
We will remember them.

We will remember them.
